Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of UserWants. Using the service means accepting them.

They are written plainly on purpose. Where something is a real obligation on you, it says so directly rather than hiding in a long sentence.

1. What the service is

UserWants gives you a widget you add to your website with one script tag. Your visitors use it to report bugs or send ideas without creating an account, and those submissions arrive in a private inbox in your project. Bug reports can carry technical context collected by the browser. Reports can also be read by an AI coding tool through our MCP server.

There is no public roadmap, no voting board and no page where your submissions are visible to anyone outside your project.

2. Your account

You need an accurate email address, you must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you are responsible for what happens under your account and for the members you invite to your projects.

3. Plans, free reports and billing

  • Every account reads its first reports for free, with no time limit and no card. The number is stated on the pricing page. Past that allowance your widget keeps collecting and the new reports are stored, but you need the paid plan to read them.
  • There is one paid plan, billed through Stripe.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Prices can change. We will tell you before a change affects your renewal.
  • If something has gone wrong with a charge, write to us. We would rather sort it out than argue about it.
  • MCP access follows the project owner's plan, not the plan of whoever connects an editor. Reports beyond the owner's free allowance are not readable from an editor either.

4. Your users' data is yours, and it is your responsibility

This is the obligation most worth reading. When your visitors send you reports, you are the data controller and we are your processor. That means:

  • You need a lawful basis for collecting it, and you must tell your users what is collected. The widget data page lists every field so you can copy it into your own privacy policy.
  • You must configure the domain allowlist for each project. It refuses every domain until you add one, so the failure mode is a widget that does not run rather than one running somewhere you did not intend.
  • You must handle requests from your own users — access, correction, deletion — because we cannot act on their data without your instruction.
  • You may use what people send you to fix and improve your product and to reply to them. You may not sell their email addresses or use them for unrelated marketing they did not agree to.
  • If you connect an AI coding tool over MCP, you are sending those reports to that tool and its model provider. That is your decision to make and your disclosure to give.

5. What you may not do

Do not use the service to break the law, to send malware or spam, to impersonate anyone, to probe or disrupt our infrastructure, to work around rate limits or the domain allowlist, or to collect data from people in ways they have not been told about. Do not install the widget on a site you do not control.

6. Who owns what

Your content stays yours. That includes everything your users send you and everything you write in your projects.

You give us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, process it, and show it back to you and the members of your project. We do not publish it, sell it, share it, or use it to train models.

We own the software, the widget and the site. Nothing here transfers any of that to you.

7. Availability

We work to keep the service up and we do not promise a specific uptime figure. There will be maintenance, and occasionally there will be failures. Rate limits exist and are documented; they are there to keep the service usable for everyone.

We may change or discontinue features. If we remove something you rely on, we will give reasonable notice.

8. Suspension and termination

You can close your account whenever you like, and doing so deletes your data as described in the privacy policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used to harm other people, or that we are legally required to act on. Except where a breach is serious or urgent, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

9. Warranties and liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a bug report will capture any particular piece of information — the widget records what the browser exposes, and browsers differ.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top always says when. If a change materially affects you, we will email you rather than rely on you noticing, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law, and disputes go to the courts of Spain. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protections of the law where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.
