- One plan, unmetered
What they are
Sentry User Feedback in one sentence
Straight answer
Where each one wins
Pick Sentry User Feedback for
Full error monitoring behind it
Sentry catches every exception whether or not a human reports it, with release tracking, alerting and source map resolution. UserWants only sees what someone chooses to report.
Performance and release context
Traces, spans and regressions across deploys. None of that exists here.
Deep SDK integration
Sentry runs inside your application and knows your framework, your releases and your users.
Pick UserWants for
No APM required
Sentry’s widget is an add-on to a platform you must already run and pay for by event volume. UserWants is one script tag and a flat price on its own.
Feature requests as well as bugs
The same button takes ideas, moves them through five statuses and emails the person who asked when one ships. Sentry does not model that at all.
Reports written for an agent to act on
MCP returns the description, the stack frames, the numbered steps and a screenshot link in one call.

Verdict
Which one to pick
These are complements far more than substitutes, and most teams should run both. Sentry tells you what broke, including the thousands of exceptions nobody noticed. UserWants tells you what someone was trying to do when it broke, which is the half Sentry structurally cannot see. Replace Sentry with this only if you were never using the monitoring and just wanted the feedback button.
UserWants is for
Teams who want user-reported bugs without running an APM
Sentry User Feedback is for
Teams already on Sentry who want a description attached to an event
FAQ
Before you switch
- Do I still need Sentry if I use UserWants?
- For error monitoring, yes. UserWants only ever sees a bug when a person reports one, so silent failures and errors nobody noticed stay invisible. The two answer different questions and most teams that can afford both run both.
- Can UserWants resolve minified stack traces?
- Not on its own. It captures the stack frame exactly as the browser reported it, truncated at 2,000 characters. If your bundle is minified you will get minified frames, so ship source maps if you want them readable.
- What does UserWants add that Sentry cannot?
- Intent. A report starts with a person saying what they were trying to do and what they expected, which no amount of exception data reconstructs. It also collects feature requests, which Sentry does not model.
Try it beside Sentry User Feedback.
Paste the tag on the same site and run both for a sprint. The reports arrive in parallel and nothing about your current setup changes.
